My father died on August 22nd after being hospitalized with pneumonia on July 31st. He came home on August 3rd, and while the pneumonia did clear up, his health steadily declined until he died in his sleep on the 22nd.

The finality is only starting to hit me now, a week after the funeral.

He was 71 years old - his 72nd birthday would have been this Sunday.

I'll miss you, Dad. As mad as you made me sometimes, you were still my Dad, and I always loved you - and always will.
